Thoughts on reeds.
I wanted to share some of my general thoughts on reeds; mine in particular. Every piece of cane is different, so every reed will be a little different too. Some people have played my reeds and thought they were very easy, some have said they were a little resistant for them. We’re all different too, so my reeds might not be for you.
I will try my to best to make sure every one I send out is great! But, weird things happen in shipping. Maybe it starts to leak or cracks while being shipped. If this happens, please let me know and I will replace it!
Orders will typically ship in 1-2 weeks.
My Reeds and Instrument
As oboists we all loving knowing each other’s setups so I thought include mine for both oboe and English horn, respectively. While I also own an oboe d’amore and make my reeds for it, I don’t do it often enough to feel comfortable selling good reeds publicly. I do like to experiment with shapes and staples, but this is what I usually play on:
Instruments: Marigaux M2 oboe; Marigaux 930 English horn
Gouge: Innoledy (oboe only)
Staples: 47mm Sierra Brass; Chudnow A Brass
Shapes: Pfeiffer-Mack or Jeanne M; Symer-Diaz
English Horn Bocal: Symer
